Friday the 13th!

Today was Friday the 13th.  Did you know that many people have thought that the number 13 was unlucky?  Even the day of the week was considered unlucky.

In numerology, the number 12 is considered the number of completeness, such as 12 months in a year, 12 hours of the clock, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 Apostles of Jesus, the 12 Descendants of Muhmmad Imans and the like are perfect example of why the number 12 is a good number.  Adding one more to that number has been considered bad.  The Last Supper had 13 people.  Many believe that have 13 people at a table will mean the death of one of those diners.

Friday has been considered to be unlucky since at least the 14th century.  Black Friday has been associated with the stock market crash and many of disasters.  Jesus was crucified on Friday.  It is believed that Adam and Eve was exiled from the Garden of Eden on a Friday.

This is the first of three Friday the 13ths in 2012.  The other two days will take place in April and July.  We will not have three of these days again in one year until 2015.  After that, we will not have that sort of luck to have three Friday the 13ths until 2026!

Crazy huh?
